Your Tracking Card should connect instantly, but sometimes technology needs a gentle push. Here's your step-by-step troubleshooting guide to get back to worry-free tracking.
Step 1: Check your card
- Charge first: Place LEFT side on any Qi wireless charger until green/blue LED (cards come pre-charged but may need topping up)
- Test activation: Press button once firmly — listen for the melody (this turns the card on)
- Confirm it's active: Try 2 quick presses — should beep if working properly
- If no sounds: Card may be defective or need more charging time
Step 2: Prepare your iPhone
- Restart completely: Power off, wait 30 seconds, power back on
- Check Bluetooth: Settings → Bluetooth (must be ON)
- Verify Apple ID: Settings → Your Name (must be signed in)
- Enable Find My: Settings → Your Name → Find My → Find My iPhone (must be ON)
- Network switch: Try switching between WiFi and mobile data
Step 3: Pairing process
- Open Find My app (green radar icon — NOT Settings)
- Tap "Items" at the bottom of screen
- Tap "Add Item" or the + symbol
- Select "Other Supported Item" (NEVER choose "AirTag" — this won't work)
- Hold card close to iPhone during entire pairing process
- Follow all prompts completely without skipping steps
Step 4: Still not working? Reset the card
- Reset sequence: Press button 5 times quickly, hold 5th press for 15 seconds
- Listen for melody — this confirms reset succeeded
- If no melody: Try holding for 20 seconds or pressing more firmly
- After reset: Wait 30 seconds, then try pairing again from Step 3
Step 5: Advanced troubleshooting
- Try different location: Some areas have interference
- Test with another iPhone: If available, confirms if issue is card or phone
- Update iOS: Make sure you have latest version
- Check Apple ID restrictions: Family sharing or restrictions may block adding items
Pro Tip: The most common mistake is selecting "AirTag" instead of "Other Supported Item" in Find My. Always choose "Other Supported Item" — this is the key to successful pairing.
Still stuck? If your card makes no sounds even after charging, or if you've tried all steps multiple times, contact support with a video showing the issue and a photo of the card's serial number for quick replacement.
Remember: Even the best technology sometimes needs a little coaxing. Most connection issues resolve with a simple reset and re-pairing.
