Important note before you start:
We do not generally recommend turning off your Spotminders Tracking Card. The card is designed to preserve battery power automatically and can last up to 5 months on a single charge. When turned off, the card cannot track, respond to Find My, or update its location.
That said, in certain situations (like long-term storage or troubleshooting), you may wish to power it down. Here’s how.
To turn OFF: Press and hold the button for 3–5 seconds until you hear a melody.
To turn ON: Press the button once firmly until you hear the melody.
Watch the how-to below:
Turning off your card:
Locate the button on your tracking card.
Press and hold firmly for 3 - 5 seconds.
Listen for the melody sound - this confirms the card has entered sleep mode.
Release the button once you hear the confirmation sound.
Turning your card back on:
Press the button once firmly.
Listen for the melody sound - this confirms the card is active again.
The card is now ready to track and pair with Find My.
Important notes
Hold the button for the full duration: do not release too early.
Press firmly: some buttons require solid pressure.
Listen carefully: the melody is your confirmation.
Be patient: sometimes it takes two or three attempts to get the timing right.
Troubleshooting
If the card will not turn off:
Hold for the full 5 seconds.
Apply firmer pressure.
Try pressing from different angles.
Ensure the card has battery power (try turning it on first).
If the card will not turn on:
Press once firmly.
Wait a few seconds for the melody.
If no sound, the card may need charging first.

Common mistakes
Do not press the button 5 times quickly: that resets the card, it does not power it off.
Do not release too early: hold for the full 3 - 5 seconds.
Do not confuse turning off with removing from Find My: turning off only puts the card to sleep.
Correct steps to follow:
Hold continuously for 3 - 5 seconds.
Listen for the melody confirmation.
Press firmly and steadily.
